Elizar – Fall Photoshoot {Humble TX Family Photographer}

1st day of cold weather in Houston and I thought – great, perfect for Eli’s fall photoshoot. It was gloomier than I would have prefered but there was no going back. I changed my little man in his fancy outfit, held my breath and hoped and prayed that he doesn’t take it off and throw a fit! To my surprise, he checked himself out in the mirror and proclaimed that “he is sooo cute!”Ha, what a relief! I could handle the gloomy weather, but a fussy child on the other hand is not something photo post processing can fix.

We headed over to a field in Eagle Springs with beautiful tall grass and woods in the background. Armed with a crate and bucket full of red apples, I arranged the set and and simply encouraged Eli to go and play. My thoughtful little boy brought audience to support him – his favorite transformers. He set them close to him where they all had front row seats to the show and then dove into the photoshoot. Literary! Such an easy model – I did not give him even one direction, just kept snapping away while he was being silly and ate at least three apples.

Once Eli’s gallery was ready, I called him in for an inspection and asked him which image shall we order to display in his room. Any guesses?

What was I thinking? No one can compare to Optimus Prime, not even a bucket with bright red ripe apples!

Alyssa & Gabriel – AHS Homecoming {Humble TX Couples Photographer}

I big question mark possessed my mind as I was preparing for Alyssa’s and Gabriel’s Homecoming photosession. I knew I wanted to take them to the Eagle Springs English Garden, but I thought “It’s Homecoming Dance night! So would the photographers of all the other students!?”

Little I knew what was in front of me – nothing could have prepared me for the amount of people that literary overtook the gardens! There was no parking spot left, cars lined up the sides of the street – it looked like one big wedding. I strategically looked around to identify spots were we could take some photos undisturbed. Thankfully, by the time our session started, everyone moved around a bit giving us 5-10 min windows to capture the places I had envisioned. With the exception of one place that Alyssa’s grandma kept for us under a strict watch until we were ready 🙂

So lessons learned, it’s essential to take your time in a situation like this to get the shots that everyone hoped for. I especially loved how towards the end of the session both Alyssa and Gabriel started relaxing and getting in a party mood – it helped bring out their personalities and lit up their faces.

The Scott’s Family {Humble, TX Family Photographer}

I couldn’t have wished for a better photography session to brighten my Sunday afternoon than the one with the Scott’s Family. You know when you meet someone and you just click with them – that’s how I felt – at ease and ready to do my best to bring out their bright and caring personalities.

David, Valerie,their daughter Emma (3yrs) and I spent an hour exploring the beauty of the English Garden in Eagle Springs – a location that offers so much versatility to work with. Below are some of my favorite images from the stone bridge, to the huge rocks by the lake and many flower and wood backdrops.

And now some images from little Emma posing like a true professional – kids just have it in them to be so natural!

The next picture is special to me! It grabbed my heart before I had even gone through the whole album. It just captures the kid’s free spirit so well, a free spirit that slips away from a lot of us adults.

Giving Back – 2012 Eagle Springs Kids’ Triathlon {Humble Family Photographer}

Photography has been such a fulfilling passion for me. When you dive into something until the dawn starts breaking in the morning and not even feel tired, is when you know it’s in you. It’s been an especially rewarding experience once I discovered that I can “Give Back” to the community I live in with what I love doing the most.

My first opportunity came along with the 2nd Annual Kids’ Triathlon that was held in my neighborhood last month. The organizers, all volunteers, were looking for someone to capture the event. I didn’t think twice. And I if I had to do it again, I would in a heartbeat!

Below are some glimpses of the event, impeccably organized, full of the kids’ enthusiasm and the parents’ endless support and pride. Wish I could feature all the kids in this tiny blog post! For those curious to look at the whole album, go to: 2012 ES Kids’ Triathlon featuring also photos by the wonderful Courtney Paul Photography who volunteered with me to cover this  event.

Belly Bump Watch Series – Rosalind: 31 Weeks {Humble TX Maternity Photographer}

Time flies by when you are having fun and when there are holidays ahead 🙂 Rosalind is already 31 weeks! And before we know it, engrossed in Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas shopping, she will be at the threshold of meeting her new baby girl. I keep changing my mind on which belly bump  pose of hers I love the most so here is the one I favor today:

Belly Bump Watch Series – Judit: 39 Weeks {Humble TX Maternity Photographer}

Thinking of my friend today as it’s her DUE DATE!

40 weeks of patience and anticipation. The belly boy has grown comfortably as we can see from the documentary below 🙂

Wishing the whole family easy and smooth welcoming of their new addition.

Belly Bump Watch Series – Rosalind: 25 Weeks {Humble TX Maternity Photographer}

So thankful to my mommy clients who confidently show off their belly bumps – it’s the most magical thing.

Rosalind is enjoying one quite active little princess. The hiccups, the kicks and stretching mommy’s belly from one end to the other are things that daddies can only dream about. Unless of course they had some spicy mexican food and all the rumbles in their stomachs make them claim “Oh, we know how that feels” 😀

Here are my favorites from our session:

Belly Bump Watch Series – Judit: 35 Weeks {Humble TX Maternity Photographer}

Week 35! The baby can come any time from now on, however I am secretly hoping that Judit and I will be able to squeeze in a 39 week session.

Meanwhile, big sister-to-be Mary, is sooo excited about her mommy’s growing belly. She would kiss it and run back to the camera to check out the results, repeat this time hugging mommy while elegantly lifting a foot in the air in a ballerina pose. She is so “stinking cute” as Judit tenderly refers to her daughter – how can mommy’s face not light up in pure joy every time this little ball of energy runs towards her?!

We ended the session with some higher end style poses and interesting light effects.

Baby Allen – It’s a … {Humble TX Maternity Photographer}

My close friend and fellow photographer from http://www.rlaphotography.com has big news to announce: It’s a GIRL!

I was so honored to be able to capture Rosalind and her family’s joy – little Bella couldn’t have looked more thrilled:

We had such a genuinely fun photoshoot, it naturally rolled into hugs and kisses for the vibrant family 🙂

Congratulations to the Allen’s Family!!!
