2016 Fall Mini Sessions in the Heights, Houston, TX

Heights Minis copy copy.jpg

It’s the one time of the year when all of us like to update our family photos and what better way to do it than with an affordable and hassle free mini session!

What is a mini session? Usually, a limited, only a few times a year offer, where the photographer determines a fixed location, a predetermined day and time slots and the families come one after another. This has always made me a little nervous. What if a family is a few minutes late? Their already limited time will be cut even shorter or they will run into the next family’s session. What if rains? Multiple families will have to be rescheduled.

So my goal this year was to provide a stress free experience for both my clients and me. I have decided to make my Fall 2016 Mini Sessions tailored towards each of you. You and I agree on the day and time (Oct 1 through Nov 20). We will meet for 20 mins and I will provide you with 10 fully edited high resolution images in both color and black and white through a download link. And the only condition is that the location is in the Heights, Houston, TX, but you can take me anywhere you’d like in the Heights – in a park, by the bayou, at a gazebo or a graffiti wall or even just on 19th street to capture the old town feel. It’s up to you!

Booking is now open – I would love to hear from you at denitsa.zinsmeister@gmail.com.

And don’t forget to look at all of my packages that I offer year around if you are looking for a different location or longer sessions at http://www.PhotoCacophony.com/Info

Maggie is 1! {Eagle Springs, TX Kids Photographer}

Miss Maggie is one of the happiest little girls I have met. To mark her 1st birthday we had an outdoor photoshoot in Eagle Springs, TX as well an inside cake smash session. She lasted through it all with a big smile.

And once we tired Maggie off she was ready for a big sweet treat to get her energy back:

Harper is 1! { Humble TX Kids Photographer}

I was blown away when I saw the balloons that Harper’s mommy had picked for her session. Aren’t they adorable? They complement wonderfully the birthday girl’s outfit and the picture setup altogether. Here are some more favorite shots from this session held in Summerwood.

Harper’s smile was so infectious but she did give us a couple of serious faces too:

And the long awaited cake smash!

Later, I also had the privilege to capture Harper during her 1st Birthday party:

Miss P is 7! {Sugarland TX Kids Photographer}

It was so nice to meet miss P and her dad! He had thought of the smallest detail for his daughter’s magical session: from the matching hairpiece and earring, to the dress.

We met at Oyster Creek Park in Sugarland, TX. The crowd was starting to pile up, all these anxious people trying to get their morning exercise in 🙂 Most of them were so nice and let us have a private moment at the bridge that is also the entrance of the park – love people in TX – everyone is so warm and friendly.

Miss P was a little nervous in the beginning – at her age I would have been a complete wreck in front of the camera – my chin would have been trembling non-stop and my face would have been frozen in a smile. She however got more and more relaxed as we moved to the waterfall area and I could really see the sparkle in her eye.

At the end of our short session we discovered a log in a shady area – when we took the pictures there I had no idea that those would turn out to be the most mysterious and magical ones of the session:

Embrace the moment and let it surprise you, Miss P. 🙂

London turns 2! {Humble TX Kids Photographer}

What a sweetie pie! I was super excited when I met London in Old Humble TX for her 2 year old session! We captured some quick family photos at the beginning of our session and after that it was all about London!

London’s mommy had amazing ideas of how to make it a fun experience for her little girl!

First it was pearls and an adorable princess dress – London couldn’t keep the smile off her face:

Then she changed into a more playful outfit and while mommy went to grab the balloons, London and I squeezed in a couple of test poses that turned out to be adorable.

Can you guess what is London’s pet at home?

Someone really really loves her pup at home! London was such a trooper throughout the photo session and left with a big smile. 🙂

Maggie – 6 months session {Eagle Springs Kids Photographer}

I met Maggie during her sister’s Emerson photo session earlier this year. She was so quiet and delightful the whole time! When her mommy called me to schedule her 6 months session, I couldn’t wait to capture her peaceful demeanor.

We headed over to a field I had loved for my son’s fall pictures with the idea to tie it with Maggie’s adorable butterfly dress. My heart was literary broken when as we approached the location, we discovered that it was torn now by construction – a new neighborhood was going in. Very few patches of grass were left, yet the pictures that we squeezed in there are some of my favorites as they carry such an intriguing variety of color in them.

Thankfully, next to the field there was a park that welcomed us with its cozy woodsy feel. Baby Maggie was so happy to be out of the weeds 🙂 All we did is put a blanket down for her and she wowed us with her big smiles and playful character.

Capturing the details we tend to overlook normally is so much fun!

And here comes my favorite capture of the day:

Followed by adorable details again! Maggie was eyeing her toes and didn’t hesitate to take action 🙂

Wonder how much you’ve grown up by now Maggie. Looking forward to seeing you again soon.

Garret, Olivia and Gavin – Blue Bonnets session {Kingwood TX Kids Photographer}

This year, the spring in Houston was unusually cool and moist – perfect for the blue bonnets to last a super long time. Thus,several weeks ago, we headed with Garret, Olivia and Gavin to a blue bonnet location in Kingwood TX for their short & sweet session.

First, it was Garret’s turn. Having older siblings must somehow impact little ones in a really good way – Garret was so calm and happy: ready for any adventure you throw his way.

Olivia was a little shy but so graceful – she had gone exploring with her daddy and came back with a beautiful red flower. This image is my favorite – it captures her individuality so well.

All shyness vanished into thin air once big brother Gavin joined her 🙂

I was a little worried when Gavin’s turn came – as kids grow they tend to force their smiles in front of the cameras, the playfulness disappears. Not with Gavin. Every shot I took of him was a keeper:

Being the oldest of the three, Gavin was very protective of his younger siblings. Little Garret appeared so cozy and safe in his big brother’s arms.

And for the finale – all three sweet kids together:

Sadie is 1! {Eagle Springs TX Family Photographer}

A “Giving Back” opportunity came along for me again through a silent auction at the end of last year. A dear client of mine was raising money with her daughter for a mission trip to Zambia, Africa where they would minister to over 800 orphans through her church. She asked me if I can donate a photo session – I couldn’t be happier!

The Homann family won it! Little Sadie was turning 1 year old and the blue bonnets were in full bloom, so we headed over to Kingwood TX for a photo session to capture her adorable smiles!

Did you notice Sadie’s custom wagon? She was all over it, as brave and adventurous as she could be:

What is a birthday celebration without some colorful balloons? The wind was tricky but I was ecstatic to capture this little sweet girl smiling, looking at the camera, without any balloons in her face and clapping her hands as an added bonus 😀

Wait until you see Sadie’s gorgeous parents:

Who is one?

It was not all smiles…but who better than mommy and daddy to return the happiness back to their little girl’s radiant face:

Daddy is so much fun!

And I can always snuggle with mommy.

Finishing with my most favorite capture of this session:

Happy 1st birthday Sadie!

Emerson {Humble TX Family Photographer}

“A ray of sunshine” I thought when I first saw Emerson. And somehow instinctively I must have set up her first shot such that it captured exactly that:

We went to the Summerwood TX ponds for our photo session. “I can’t wait to feed the ducks” she exclaimed when we met! And why  was I not surprised?! It’s such a fun location, where families love to spend time by the water, at the gazebo, run around the playground … but most of all bring yummy crumbs for the ducks at the park. So that lingered in my head as Emerson perfectly posed at each spot I had picked. She has the patience of an angel.

At the end of the session, the moment that Emerson had been looking forward to the whole time came. And so did the moment I loved capturing the most of the whole session:

Alex.Abby.Ava {Humble TX Family Photographer}

When I received the email request for this session, one thing stayed with me – the mom of these gorgeous sisters hoped that I can capture the ages they are at in a simple and pretty way…Alex and Abby are 15 year old twins and Ava is 3 1/2. Parks have been a very popular location choice but it was late February in Houston and still somewhat gloomy. Besides, I wanted the girls ages to thrive in the setup I picked. So we went to Charles Bender High School in Old Humble, TX. The good news was no other photographers had scheduled their sessions for that day there (it’s a go to place for senior portraits), the bad news – the rustic red iron staircase that I was eyeing for our session had been removed over the week! Yet, there were many more interesting background options that the historic school offered us.

An aged door and a rusty railing:

Brick walls and beatup concrete steps:

Antique metal shutters:

But don’t get me wrong – it was not the location that kept us going! The girls’ bond, fun spirit and light heartedness shined in every image I took. It was addictive – we ran over the allotted time and I could have kept going for a lot longer capturing their attentiveness to one another.
